Tips on home strenght training
If you're looking to get in shape, or tone up those loose muscles, one of the best ways to achieve your goal is through strength training. The beauty of strength training is that you can see results very quickly, and you can also begin your programme of training in your own home.
If you are looking to be a workout Goddess at home, but feel you have a shortage of resources such as equipment and space then worry no more. The key to any successful workout program is being innovative and being able to utilize the ability of your own body resistance with as little help from outside resistance when necessary.
The myth that you need to have fancy equipment or lift in an expensive gym in order to build explosive football power is complete B.S. I've heard way too many times that you can't get a real, hard-core explosive football training session at home!
I am glad to introduce to you the single arm overhead kettlebell snatch! By now you my have either heard of the kettlebell or realize that this ancient strength and conditioning device is second to none when it comes down to developing superior core power for athletic performance.
People are often asking me what to look for in good fitness strength training equipment and what is involved in setting up the best home gym for their needs. The types of questions that are asked include.
One of the benefits of strength training without weights is that the gym is always with you. Anywhere you go, you have access to "the gym" because you are the gym. I've done chinups on playground monkey bars while my daughter plays. There is always something available to push off of or pull up on.
Do you have the trouble of surplus body fat on your body? Then you might have been misinformed into thinking that all you must do is consume less food and the fat will vanish. How many times have we been advised or have wished to believe that it's all concerning food intake, that it's all concerning what we eat?
While many incorrectly claim that since football is a sport of speed, that strength isn't important. These coaches believe that football strength training workouts are unimportant. They feel that you can become as fast as needed by running with garbage football training gimmicks like parachutes and towing gear.
Boomers are entering into the senior circle and now more than ever before you need to incorporate strength training into your lives. Maintaining your strength is essential if you are going to stay active and healthy.
Broadly, there are two types of exercises: aerobic and strength training (or anaerobic), and each one contributes differently to weight loss. Aerobic exercise burns fat calories while you are engaged in the exercise itself.
But, since then, his progress has been going backwards. His coaches are complimenting his technique, but he's starting to get beat. He's slower off the ball and his "pop" is gone, according to him.

Weeeeee, The Wii Will Get You Into Shape With Wii Fitness Games!
Will a video game promote your good health? You bet it can, if its a Nintendo Wii fitness game! We all know the bad reputation video games have gotten in the past. It was believed video games led to a sedentary lifestyle. Parents have complained for years that their couch potato tykes do nothing but sit around day and night playing video games as their health deteriorates. And, of course, we all know the horror stories of how sofa tater children grow up to be sofa spud adolescents who can't cut it in the adult world.
Some may disagree with these fears, but now, things have changed! Nintendo Wii video games makes these fears a thing of the past. A Wii fitness game mixes all the skill and fun of a average video game with exercise you would get, if you were actually playing it. Doctors and parents have all started to support the Wii. You may not burn as many calories as playing the actual sport, but, you will burn a significant amount and that's a heck of a lot better...and more fun, than sitting there.
Just envision yourself on a tennis court, ready to serve the ball to your opposition. You enhale, throw the ball up and swing with all you've got. Now envision doing this in the comfort of your own home, wearing whatever you find comfortable. If you are not able to find an opponent to play against, no problem, you can just play against the computer. If, on the other hand, you have a friend (or three), you can all get into the fun. Volley the ball to and fro, matching your skill against your nemesis. You start to get into the game and begin to forget it's just a Wii fitness game, and best of all, you even forget you are receiving an aerobic workout!
The Wii game console has made it a possibility. The action can be so close to reality, and the bodily benefits so terrific that some physical therapy specialists have in reality tied wii fitness games into their patient's workout procedures, helping them to regain lost or impaired joint and muscle flexibility.
Senior citizens are even getting in on the action. It is no longer accurate to depict the elderly sitting around living a dormant life. Wii fitness games have been turning up in more and more elderly living centers. What was once seen to be a lethargic universe has again acquired fresh life, as the elderly are able to easily learn the necessary skills to enter into all the fun the Wii gaming console has to offer. There have even been Wii bowling clubs starting up in the centers, providing hours of amusement and most importantly bodily movement and exercise.
So, if you've been considering getting into better shape, or getting your family active together, then toss out your antiquated ideas and turn to video games. Provided you're talking of the Nintendo Wii gaming console, you can't lose anything but some extra pounds.

Best workout program on DVD?
Anyone have experience using a home workout program (dvd set) similar to that billy taeBo guy, or maybe power90? I want something new like those, and they seem fun AND challenging...but not sure which program is best? I don't want pilates or yoga, & trying not to spend a fortune. I'm trying to lose about 50lbs. help?
can anyne share weight loss stats while (or before& after) using the programs?

Need a full body workout that will make me way stronger?
can somebody supply with with a kick ass workout. I have a curling bar for biceps up to about 80 pounds and 2 adjustable bars that can have anywhere from 2.5 to about 32.5. My goals are to keep strengthening my whole body but my primary goal is my upper body, especially my bi's and tri's. Any help?

Nike Ipod Sport Kit?
I'm goin shopping soon anad was wondering if i should get some Nike+ shoes with the ipod sport kit does it really work. i workout everyday and thought it would be cool to see how much calories i burned
Yes, it does. It's amazing because it will tune your running by seeing how fast you run.
For instance if u were running 15km/h then slowed down to 10. The iPod chip would detect that and find a song that would "pump you up" to help keep you going. Of course you would have to set this in your iTunes first tho.
-Also it will calculate running time, kms, calories (determined by how fast/long you run), etc.

10 Reasons to Start Rebounding

Previously I have written about the need for a synergy in achieving optimal health (including fat loss) by maintaining/or building those metabolism furnaces (muscle mass), performing cardio in moderation to effectively transfer nutrients throughout the body and having supportive nutrition and lifestyle habits.
Here's a novel way to perform cardio exercise especially for those living in a cold climate and stuck indoors at the moment - Rebounding.
Rebounding involves using a mini-trampoline to jog, twist or step walk on the spot. The benefits of rebounding have been well documented by many professionals in rehabilitation and conditioning.
Dr. James White, director of research and rehabilitation at the University of California, believes it is more effective for fitness and weight loss than jogging or cycling while producing fewer injuries. (3)
Here are 10 reasons to start Rebounding:
1. Stress reduction Increasing endorphin output has a stabilizing effect on the nervous system through. Increased oxygen flow increases our sense of well being without the toxic side effects of narcotics or anti-depressants.
2. Improved oxygen levels This leads to an increase in physical and mental efficiency.
3. Detoxification Today a good detox is an essential component to any wellbeing program. Rebounding helps clear the lymph glands and loosen the toxins within the subdermal portion of the skin in the body, and finally through perspiration the body can remove toxins including heavy metals and cellular waste.
4. Stimulates healing A superior exercise for those that are immune compromised including cancer and MS. Rebounding increases white blood cell count, providing a greater defense system to destroy cancer.

I need advice on gaining weight and muscle mass with relatively quick results?
I am 18 years old and eat protein ALL DAY. I know protein is essential for what I am trying to do, but what would be a good diet to go by because obviously protein alone is not doing it for me.I went to the gym for months with little to no results, but I was able to lift more weight. Generally with dumbells I work with 20's for now, and I curl between 60-80 depending on if I'm going for more reps or more resistance. What is better for gaining msucle mass- More weight/ More reps??? Also, I would like some workout advice ( what exercises to do, how long to wait between sets, how many reps, and how many times a day/week I should do the workout. At my house I have a weight bench, dumbells, and a curl bar. I take a 10mile bikeride each day....is this goign to stop me from gaining weight, or do I just have to adjust my calorie intake because I bike so much?!? PLEASE HELP ME
What you are doing sounds as if its better suited to someone trying to lose weight and get totally ripped. Chuy M has given you some good advice for routines. My brief tip would be to eat more complex carbs or alternatively cut down on the frequency of the bike rides. Give your body a days rest between workouts, particularly if you tend to have a slim build ("ectomorphic"). Bananas are good for a bit of padding without adding fat.
